Do you want to know more about  Falklands Veterans Foundation?  Here is a short paragraph about where the money will be going…

This April coming 2012 will mark 30 years of the conflict. The Falkland Island war was the biggest naval action to take place since World War II.

Over 900 soldiers lost their lives in the short 74 days of conflict.

The Foundation need to raise a great deal of money every year to keep their project going and Love Southsea really want to do as much as possible to help.

’Liberty Lodge’ is a small comfortable dwelling the veterans charity have built on the Falklands Islands. They raise money both to keep the lodge running but also to pay for the men/women & families who were caught up in the conflict to be flown over to the lodge for a small break to help give them some of closure. This is a proven way to help the mental anguish our-service personnel have to deal with in their day to day jobs through fighting for our Queen and Country.

What a great reason to have a wonderful party, full of fun and laughter whilst raising lots of money for a superb cause.

If you book a table for ten you can get one ticket free – so ask your friends and family along and get Christmas

Love Southsea Christmas Ball 2010

After many months preparation our Ball finally landed, Friday 3rd December 2010. Even the snow and ice could not stand in the way of this special night for the guests and special speakers due to attend and we are so delighted that everyone including those who came from far managed to brave the conditions in aid of a wonderful nights fundraising.

Boathouse No. 7 in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard excelled themselves on our special night, from top management to the chefs, waiting staff, bar staff. Everyone involved went out of their way to make all 250 of us feel welcome and at home! The tables looked stunning with our Caribbean themed flowers kindly donated from local Old Portsmouth Florist Eden.

At 8pm we all took to our seats, the room fell to darkness then the first of the nights special treats began, five ex parers dressed in masks and lit by ultraviolet lights drummed us into dinner!

Simon Western OBE gave us a heart filled speech to explain the importance of supporting our troops home and away, not only for their physical injuries but also for their mental rehabilitation on returning from service. This truly inspired and made everyone think of how special and lucky we are in our everyday lives.

Our live band, the one and only ‘Kojaks Revenge’ got everyone up on their feet to dance the night away with classic tracks and current covers. While the fun Casino proved to be an added bonus. What an excellent way to end an amazing night of entertainment.

Ian Burnett and Adrian Feltham Photography were on hand all night to capture everyone in their finery.

Over all Love Southsea had a marvelous night! We smashed our £2,000 target to approx £7,000. We cannot praise enough thanks to all our generous guests and fabulous donations received from various sponsors.

Some of the lucky winners prizes won on the night included a stay in The Bentley Hotel Knightsbridge, courtesy of Parker Lloyd of London, a years free membership for two at the newly refurbished Pyramids spa and Gym. Those with deeper pockets bid for a years supply of botox courtesy of Sk:n and an amazing prize of 7 nights stay at the 7 star Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi!

Love Southsea would highly recommend Boathouse No.7, Kojaks Revange , and Ian Burnett Photography.

Please contact us if you would like any contact with any of the entertainment or suppliers of prizes from the evening.
