The Love Southsea show is back for it’s 2nd year! Sunday 8th July on Castle field, Southsea. This is a show to celebrate the city, the people in it, to have a fun day and raise some money for charity. This year we have chosen the two charities Make a Wish, and The Portsmouth Foyer,

You can take part in many ways,

1 - We are looking for companies, businesses, tourist attractions, shops, schools and clubs to come to the show for FREE to promote their company and in return they need to bring a fate game to make money towards our chosen charities ‘Make a wish’ and ‘The Portsmouth Foyer’.

Examples -

Blue Reef Aquarium will be doing a balloon pop game, you can buy a balloon off the Blue Reef stand, they will then put a raffle ticket into the balloon, all the balloons go into the arena and Express FM’s Darren Gamblen and Blue Reef’s mascot Charlie the Clownfish will have a 30 seconds to see how many balloons they can pop whilst being blindfolded!

If your lucky balloon gets popped you will win a prize!

If 100 people buy a balloon, then we can easily raise £1000 just from this one fun game. So please get thinking as to how you can do your bit…….

We are looking for acts to showcase their specialty in the arena, singing, dancing, preforming, demonstrations.

3, The Beth Oliver Band have kindly given us the download royalties to their song ‘Love’ 100% of the profit will go to the charities, you can down load Love now on itunes for 78p, 48p will go to the charity fund.

Meet our very own Vintage style Guru Naomi Thompson, We are very lucky to have here onboard to help us

bring you Victorious Vintage, the best vintage FREE party for The Diamond Jubilee 2012

A quick Google search of Naomi Thompson Vintage reveals that she has been at the forefront on the vintage boom since 2008.

She started her career by launching a pioneering on-line vintage shop to instant critical acclaim. The Guardian picked up on it within five days, declaring ‘Vintage has gone high tech’ on account of her products being photographed in 3D (a concept rapidly picked up by Net-A-Porter amongst others). She quickly became known as the go-to girl for an amazing wardrobe and was lauded by British Vogue.

Determined to expand her concept she went on to organise and co-host a year long run of pioneering sell-out vintage events in London. The aim was to introduce the best in vintage hair, makeup, styling and etiquette all under one roof. As a stylist she has also dressed a number of international burlesque stars and singers such as Gabby Young, who she styled for her first music video. Her boudoir at her home in London saw so many influential people come through its doors that she ended up being personally sponsored by Hendricks Gin.

Naomi was handpicked by the fashion curator of Vintage at Goodwood (an Antiques Roadshow expert) to co-organise the festival launch event in 2009 at the Goodwood Revival. Naomi and her team organised and stocked an entire emporium as well as sourcing models and clothes for three catwalk shows a day. Naomi went on to organise the Bathing Beauties show at Vintage at Goodwood the following year.

In 2011 she decided to put her extensive knowledge to good use and launched herself as the UK’s first Vintage person shopper. She has made it her mission to help everyone, no matter their age or size, find incredible vintage clothes at reasonable prices. This new venture saw a flurry of press and she appeared in the pages of Australian Grazia, Cosmopolitan and The Express. Last year Naomi landed her first book deal and filmed six International TV shows including appearances on the Apprentice and The One Show. 

“Style Me Vintage Clothes, a Guide to Sourcing and Recreating Retro Looks” (Anova Publishing) comes out internationally on the 1^st of Feb 2012.

Naomi is regularly consulted by journalists who are looking for new people or trends to write about. She may be called upon to source entire collections of vintage clothing for shoots and has also worked with the WGSN trend forecasting company. She is a writer, with features appearing in BBC Homes and Antiques Magazine and shortly, the Huffington Post.

She currently uses her expertise, contacts and extensive following to advise on and promote events around the country. Naomi is also a founding member of the Vintage Mafia, a collective of experts in all things vintage. Between them they have a combined monthly blog readership of over 70,000 and a combined twitter following of over 14,000. The Vintage Mafia is made up of experienced writers, models, actresses, voice-over artistes, DJs, designers, stylists, personal shoppers, presenters and hostesses. 2011 clients included the Imperial War Museum, The Royal Academy, Heyday Clothing and Ralph Lauren Rugby.

Naomi’s work experience includes event management for one of London’s largest music venues and being part of the in-house PR team for Goldman Sachs. She also speaks 3 languages fluently and has a BA Hons in Law and Spanish from Sussex University

Despite a life of living around the globe, Naomi’s heart is remains firmly in Portsmouth
