It’s been said that Wicked is one of the greatest musicals of our time
WICKED tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two sorcery students so Wizard of Oz meets Hogwarts and their extraordinary adventures in Oz, which will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

I could gush on about how phenomenal the singing was where each cast member hits each awkwardly technical note with ease. I could rave on about how exquisite every detail want into each scene. Or how their dancing could be up there as a ‘Strictly 10!’

But I want to dig deeper than that, this story is so so clever, taking a true all time classic that we have all grown up on and turning it on it’s head. A lesson that we all should take on board, try not to look at the prejudices which make you scared or hold you back because someone is different. But be less quick to condemn and be more open to be inquisitive and to learn more.

If you haven’t gone to see Wicked I highly recommend it, as one of the long-standing musicals on the West End, Wicked now in it’s 12 year is still as popular as ever. First traveled to Southampton in 2014 is back with a vengeance.
Wicked is running at the Mayflower Theatre till 31st October 2018.
