All my life, I’ve battled with dyslexia — even the word dyslexia is hard to spell! Luckily, I can talk for England and my confidence is sky-high, so I’m excited to be one of the guest speakers at You Will Fail Her, a collaboration between New Theatre Royal resident artist Jon Adams and neurodivergent arts organization DYSLPA taking place on Thursday 21st/Friday 22nd September.
The event will present an exploration of the neurodivergent mind, question the suitability of Britain’s education system, and how it can affect society for generations.
I’ll be telling my story, starting in St. Mary’s Hospital 45 years ago, winding through Mayville High School’s incredible dyslexia department, and culminating in how dyslexia affects and influences my life as founder and director of Love Southsea, and as a mother of three.
The event will also feature a panel discussion.
